Truly Christlike Love (Song)

It's so easy to get overwhelmed and depressed in our world today when we look at the state of affairs. There are disasters-whether natural or manmade, wars, corruption, deceit, disease, murders, pain and death. And our society seems to celebrate so many sins. It's easy to get to feeling blue. It's definitely not another day in Paradise.
Out of all the social ills out there, one thing that really distresses me is to see the lack of civility and respect in our speech. There is so much name-calling that goes on, from our leaders to everyday people on the street. People have such disparaging things to say as they purposefully seek to tear down others and mock them as they curse them out. And it seems to be even worse online on social media. When we do these things, we are speaking evil of human beings made in the image of God. And God's creation is good and we are commanded to show love and respect for all His creation. You can't say you love God Whom you haven't seen when you hate your brother whom you have seen.
As a famous song said, what the world needs now is love- sweet love. We who belong to Lord Jesus Christ are commanded to show love- to all people, friends, family and enemies alike. It's through showing Christ's love to others that the world sees our good deeds and glorifies our Father Who is in Heaven. And we point others to the only Hope for this world- the grace and mercy of The Lord God, Whose mercy is new every morning and Who offers forgiveness of all sins and salvation from the Hell we deserve for all who put faith in Jesus' death and Resurrection that pays for them all. We then truly can enjoy another day after day for eternity in Paradise. Until that time, we've got a duty here to love. And as another song said, they'll know we are Christians by our love.

When I'm scrolling through
Online apps for news
Or dates or books (or) Youtube
Then I get so blue
When composing screeds,
Folks don't feel your heart beats
Hide behind their screen name- grenadiers
Wouldn't you agree rage-baiting is mean?
What a screwy timeline, bud!
Any time they want views
Using burns leads on to
The clicking they want, dude
Any line they'll cross
Then with politics
Both sides bark out triggers
Rants to troll the liberals online
Putting G.O.P.
Labelled as Nazis- What a doomsday kind of bomb!
(Ohh!)
When I'm feeling gloom
Call to mind this truth
So take God's Book right to
Lamentations, dude
When the new day dawns
God's mercy's new- facts, there!
My hope's Lord Christ- Master of whole sphere
St. John in 13:34 decrees
Got a duty there to love
What God approves of- James 1 love
1 John 4's proving God is Love (Ohh!)
Let all you do be done in Love
